The problem with Runtime Errors is that they can be very broad. And the solution would depend on the program or software that it pertains to. The most common software in which this error comes up are Visual Basic applications, games, utilities, and a few other software using the ActiveX components.
The usual fix to this error is to simply uninstall and re install the faulty program. If that failed to solve the problem, try to go back to the old drawing board and make sure that the software is indeed, compatible with your system. If your Windows system is not included in the software’s list of compatible platforms, then the root of the problem is right there.
If the error is brought about by one of the programs included in the Microsoft Office Suite, then the application file associated with the program has to be duly registered in the system. This is usually encountered by network-installed software.
Incidentally, viruses may cause this error as well. It’s a known fact that they may damage system files and registry entries. Run-time errors like these are likely to occur when a computer got exposed to a string of viruses or malware from the internet. If this is the cause of the problem, take measures in removing the virus. Do not attempt to run system restore.
Sometimes the runtime error 429 can be fixed by a security patch. Try to see whether there is one available from Microsoft but don’t forget to check with the software developers as well. Find out if there’s a particular update that they recommend to fix the issue.
